Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure the health and safety of individuals served while providing opportunities for personal growth.
Calculate and file program data, summarize progress and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
Ensure that site staff are aware of all medical appointments and that individuals arrive at appointments on time.
Ensure that staff hours are scheduled according to budgeted hours for each site and adjust accordingly.
Develop site and staff schedules to meet the staffing requirements and reassign staff as needed to create staff sharing situations while providing staff coverage for all consumers. Ensure coverage for all open shifts.
Provide 20 hours of direct supervision to direct support professionals per week with 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Approximately 20 hours per week will be spent on administrative issues.
Ensure that site staff are trained on high-risk plans (HRP), Behavior Plans and PCISP goals for all individuals served.
Monitor and record that all individuals’ finances are accurate, and all monies are kept in a safe location.
Assist and provide input in writing and revision of resident programming.
Implement, record and maintain the file of ISP objectives, behavior management plans, activity schedules and all other pertinent files.
Assist or monitor individuals in completion of meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry and other tasks.
Assist individuals in the utilization of community, social, and recreational resources.
Assist and monitor the dispensing and recording of medications.
Communicate pertinent information to day services and schools.
Assist in maintaining compliance with CARF, state and federal licensing regulations and agency policies and procedures.
Assist in the appropriate use and recording of individual and agency financial transactions.

Participate in required in-service training and staff meetings.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent
Two years’ experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
Pre-employment requirement: HCSP state-required certification (this will be discussed during pre-screening phone interview
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Reliable transportation
No felony convictions
No convictions of abuse or neglect
VALID driver’s License & Favorable driving record
Proof of personal auto insurance (to transport in personal vehicle)
Ability to physically transfer individual(s), bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 20 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Interpersonal skills including an ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individuals served information.
Ability to learn keyboarding and computer skills.
Ability to perform basic business mathematics.
Knowledge of basic housekeeping and personal grooming habits.
Ability to pass Medication Administration curriculum and New Employee Orientation.

Ability to follow plans that address an individual’s served needs.
