Position: Nursing Services Coordinator
Year Started: 2024

Sherri DiMarco

Role Description

I oversee the medical needs of the individuals at In-Pact. This entails many different aspects including home visits, medication management, medical appointments, and working as a part of the team to provide the best medical care possible.

What is something that people with disabilities have to deal with that you want to fix?

Individuals with intellectual disabilities are funded under Medicaid for all of their medical needs. Many physicians do not want to see Medicaid patients and having an intellectual disability only adds to these limitations. Psychiatrists are especially difficult to find. Appointments sometimes take over 6 months to occur. I would like to see more physicians willing to see and care for our individuals.

What’s your past experience?

I have been a registered nurse for 37 years. I worked in coronary intensive care, on a kidney dialysis unit, and was a IV home infusion nurse. Oh yes! I forgot that I was a school nurse for a few months! I started at In-Pact on a part -time basis when my children were young and it eventually became full-time.

What do you like about working at In-Pact?

I like working at In-Pact because I have become close to all the individuals. They become like family.
