Role Description

Generally, I am tasked with managing risk and providing legal guidance and support to ensure In-Pact’s employment and operational matters align with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards while protecting and promoting the organization’s mission and assets.

What is something that people with disabilities have to deal with that you want to fix?

Society tends to incorrectly perceive and label a person with a disability as “abnormal.” These social constructs often alienate people with disabilities from the human collective, preventing equal access to rights, opportunities, and services, and protection from discrimination, abuse, and neglect.
Disabilities are normal, natural variations of human experience.

What’s your past experience?

I am an undergraduate of Indiana University (Bloomington) and a graduate of Indiana University School of Law (Indianapolis). I have practiced law in Indiana and Illinois for +30 years, 20 years at a Chicago defense litigation firm and 10 years as a sole practioner primarily in Lake County, Indiana.

What do you like about working at In-Pact?

It provides me with purpose; advocating for those with disabilities, together with organizations that support them, is personally and professionally fulfilling.

What are the values that drive you?

Humor, compassion, integrity, accountability, creativity, courage…

What’s your favorite quote?

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a better place… to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
