As a group home manager, I oversee staff supporting individuals with disabilities, ensuring proper training, scheduling, and support for quality care. I make sure individuals are safe, respected, and supported in gaining independence. I handle staffing, call-offs, and step in when needed to keep operations running smoothly. My role includes ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with guidelines and policies, and communicating with families, case managers, and professionals to keep everyone aligned. Overall, I support staff and individuals, fostering a positive environment and efficient daily operations.
One thing I really want to fix is making sure people with disabilities are actually heard and included in their own lives. I’ve seen situations where individuals don’t always get a say in simple things like what they want to do for the day or how they want things done, and you can tell it affects them. I’ve also seen how hard it is when there’s no consistency in staff—it can be frustrating and overwhelming. That’s why I try to make sure they feel comfortable, respected, and like their voice actually matters every day.
I have three years of experience working as a Practice Support Health Coordinator and Community Health Worker, where I helped connect individuals to healthcare services and community resources. I supported patients with scheduling, understanding their care, and navigating the healthcare system. I also worked closely with care teams to keep things organized and made sure patients felt supported and heard
What I like most about working at In-Pact is being able to make a real difference in people’s lives every day. I also appreciate the teamwork and supportive environment. It’s rewarding to work with people who truly care and all share the same goal of helping others feel supported, respected, and successful.
I grew up in Illinois and have been living in Merrillville for the past three years. I’m also a proud parent of two beautiful children, who keep me busy and motivated every day.
What drives me most is treating people with respect, being dependable, and always trying to do the right thing. I believe in being kind, working hard, and showing up for others when they need me. My family also motivates me every day and pushes me to keep growing and doing my best.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my kids and being involved in their activities. I also like being creative and coming up with new ideas and designs for the T-shirt business I’m starting.
