Residential Data Specialist

Reports to:  Group Home Manager

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Summary

This is a valuable position on the Group Home team that is primarily responsible for the assistance, supervision and monitoring of individuals served. Serves a role in implementing program plans, promoting independence, personal growth, community integration and enhancing the quality of life for the individuals served. This position is responsible for recording and maintaining data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals served while providing opportunities for personal growth.
  • Calculate and file program data, summarize progress and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
  • Assist Group Home Manager when requested in day to day operation of the group home.
  • Assist and provide input in writing and revision of resident programming.
  • Assist or monitor the individuals served in completion of daily activities.
  • Implement, record and maintain the file of ISP objectives, behavior management plans and activity schedules and all other pertinent files.
  • Assist or monitor individuals in completion of meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry and other tasks.
  • Assist individuals in the utilization of community, social, and recreational resources.
  • Assist and monitor the dispensing and recording of medications.
  • Communicate pertinent information to day services and schools.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with CARF, state and federal licensing regulations and agency policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the appropriate use and recording of individual and agency financial transactions.
  • Participate in required in-service training and staff meetings.
Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED, and one year’s previous experience in working with developmental disabilities required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Interpersonal skills including an ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individuals served information.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance when transporting individuals served.
  • Ability to learn keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic business mathematics.
  • Ability to physically transfer individuals served, bend, stoop and reach.
  • Knowledge of basic housekeeping and personal grooming habits.
  • Ability to pass Medication Administration curriculum and New Employee Orientation.
  • Ability to follow plans that address a individuals served needs.
  • Not convicted of an abuse, neglect or position relevant felony.
