DSP Position, Community Learning Program Instructor

Department: Community Resources

Reports to: Community Learning Program Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

This position serves as a valuable member of the Community Resources Team.
Primary role is implementing programs for individuals to involve them in daily recreational activities as well as community integration activities while ensuring compliance with relevant funding sources and regulations. This position provides the direct care of assigned consumers participating in Community Learning Program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure the health and safety of assigned individuals.
Maintain program records.
Implement all relevant behavior management plans.
Dispense medications to consumers as needed.
Assist Community Learning Program Supervisor with preparing monthly schedule of activities.
Procure transportation for consumers as needed.
Assess and report progress of assigned individuals.
Report and record information requested by the Community Learning Program Supervisor.
Represent In-Pact at meetings with consumers and other team members.
Ensure compliance with CARF, Medicaid Waiver and other relevant regulations.
Participate in all required staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Other duties as requested by the Community Learning Program Supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate required. Bachelor’s degree and experience working with people with disabilities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to read documents and written instructions
Ability to write and maintain accurate records
Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
Ability to stoop, kneel, lift and complete assigned tasks
Must have a valid driver’s license
No convictions of abuse or neglect or any related felony
