ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR

Summary

This is a valuable position in the Financial Department with primary responsibility for the verification of agency financial obligations. This position assures payment of those obligations, prepares monthly closing entries and performs additional bookkeeping duties.

Pay: 37K-41K per year

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Verify agency obligations and pay vendor invoices. Reconcile accounts payable to general ledger and maintain aging schedules. Timely enter payable data into accounting program. Maintain adequate filing system by vendor. Coordinate and record bank deposits. Prepare staff mileage reimbursements. Prepare general journal entries for month-end closings. Maintain depreciation records of agency assets. Reimburse employee/consumer expenses incurred. Maintain the names of employees authorized to make vendor purchases. Maintain property payment records. Maintain records of consumer utilities and vehicle repairs. Manage utility and personal property tax exemption filings. Participate in agency audits as required. Provide backup to Accounts Receivable Coordinator.

Qualifications

An Associate Degree in Accounting with one year of experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Interpersonal skills including an ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of consumer information. Ability to follow instructions and maintain detailed accounting records . Ability to maintain scheduled hours. Ability to problem solve and perform bookkeeping and business mathematical operations. Ability to learn keyboarding and computer skills. Ability to lift 20 pounds, bend, stoop, reach and perform repeated keyboard operations.
