What is Supported Services?

Supported Services assists families of children or adults with developmental disabilities by providing needed support at home and helping avoid out-of-home placements.  Allowing persons with developmental disabilities a chance to live. learn and grow in their own home and community, Supported Services provides "support for community living".

Funding

The funding for Supported Services comes from a combination of state and federal funding sources.  A primary source is the Medicaid Waiver Home and Community Based Waiver Program.  Persons with developmental disabilities are selected for this program by the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services and the Area Agency on Aging.  Alternative funding sources for families not able to qualify for Medicaid Waiver Services may be available.  Private payment by the family or by insurance is also accepted.

Available Services

Consumer Empowerment

If you know of someone you would like to work with your family member (family friend, neighbor, relative, etc.), In-Pact will provide them with the necessary training and then hire them as a Supported Services Specialist.  We offer on-going training opportunities for our staff and each staff member receives training in CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, Behavior Management, Autism, Data Keeping, Respite, Personal Assistance, and Habilitation Services.

Respite Services

When you need some time away, In-Pact will help by providing a qualified support staff member to supervise your developmentally disabled family member.  Respite gives families the time they need to complete errands, take a short vacation, enjoy an evening out, or take care of other activities.

Personal Assistance

In-Pact can provide you with qualified staff to help you in the home.  Our staff members can assist the consumer with bathing, housekeeping skills, cooking, shopping, and supervision that persons with developmental disabilities may need on a daily basis.

Habilitation Services

Habilitation Services provides training and opportunities for a person with disabilities to become more fully involved in the home and the community.  Exercise, shopping, cooking, housekeeping, recreation, social involvement, and other daily activities are some of the areas in which In-Pact can assist.

Behavior Management

Through In-Pact's Supported Services, families are given help dealing with the behavioral challenges children and adults with disabilities can display.  Behavioral assessments, step-by-step management techniques and counseling within the home provide you the positive support necessary to prevent out-of-home placements.

Supported Living

So that people with disabilities can live in their own home or apartments, Supported Living Services provides staff support to make this a reality.  Each support is individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
