Did You Know?
  • Epilepsy affects more than two million people in the U.S.
  • Epilepsy is not a disease.  It is a symptom of a disorder of the brain.
  • Epilepsy can affect anyone at any time and at any age.
  • Epilepsy usually can be treated, thus permitting many individuals to lead normal lives.

Epilepsy can be accompanied with psychological and social
      problems such as:
      - misunderstanding and rejection by family and friends
      - the inability to get a job
      - insecurity
      - anger
      - frustration

For many, society's reaction to a person's disorder is more
difficult to handle than the disorder itself.
