Wrap-Around Services assist families
and their children who have developmental disabilities to acquire additional
needed services from the local schools. All of those involved or interested in
the student's education (parents. teachers, administrators, etc.) come together
to discuss the student's needs and adopt a plan of action.
If this group, also known as the interdisciplinary team, believes the local
school district does not have the resources or services the student needs, they
address the subject. The interdisciplinary team will make their recommendations
and the school can file an alternative services application with the Department
of Education.
